Bring in new, higher-paying jobs

I understand that family, education and fair taxes are all important, but I also realize that it’s hard to focus on these matters when folks are concerned about whether they will have a job. I have worked with companies, such as Nestle, the ethanol plant and local call centers, to ensure that new jobs are being brought into our community. More than 900 new jobs have been created in the area, and that is just the beginning. Together we will continue fighting to see that good paying jobs find a home right here. I will not rest until every person who needs a job finds a place to move their families and careers forward.

Relief at the Pump

Record breaking gas prices are putting a strain on our community. We need to ease the tensions because so many of us are struggling to find the money to fill up our tanks for our families basic needs: driving to work, buying groceries and other daily tasks. For that reason, I have been a strong advocate for alternative fuel sources. I will continue to working hard, where this issue is concerned, until we see finally see reasonable prices at the pump.

Cut Wasteful Government Spending

If ever there was a time for government to tighten the reigns on spending, it is now. I have made finding a solution to wasteful government spending my top priority, from passing the first, balanced budget in Indiana’s history to placing spending caps on state government. Families have to live within a budget – government should be no different.
